Alkalinity indicates the amount of dissolved minerals in your tank water. With rain or tap water, you can often suffer from too high or too low a pH, Alkalinity Up can remedy this. It helps increase the amount of dissolved minerals and counteracts pH fluctuations in your tank water. Alkalinity Up is a quick-dissolving powder and leaves no residue. You can test Alkalinity Up with the BSI Test Strips, the ideal value for alkalinity is between 80 and 120 ppm.

To increase alkalinity by 10 ppm: 14 g Alkalinity Up per m³
To decrease alkalinity by 10 ppm: 2 g pH Down powder per m³
